A thermostatic mixing valve has a wax filled thermostat cartridge, that blends hot water with cold water to
ensure constant safe water outlet temperatures, even if other taps or appliances are used at the same time.
The valve also shuts off rapidly in the event of a hot or cold supply failure, to help prevent scalding or thermal
shock. This provides increased safety whilst showering.
The use of a thermostatic valve, rather than a manual system, gives user comfort, ensuring a constant water
temperature. This is a great idea if young children or elderly use the shower. Easy to operate and water saving.
If you have a two-tap shower, this system can be installed by our plumber, replacing your conventional two-tap
setup with NO pipework or tiling alteration – even if your handles are fitted vertically. This can NOT be used to
convert a single lever mixer though.
